The range of BMW is already quite extensive when you look at it starting from the entry level 1-Series to their M variants. You will not run out of BMW vehicles if you think of a sallon, coupe, hatchback, SUV, or hybrid. The development goes on and just recently auto spies saw an X6 M running on diesel at Nordschleife.

The M division though are still looking for something in the line up of BMW. During a recent interview, one of the project leaders for the F10 M5 confirmed that BMW is looking into making a pure BMW supercar. It is that one thing missing from the line up of the German carmaker since the M1 that rolled out back around 1978 through 1981.

BMW unwrapped a concept vehicle in celebration of the 30th birthday of the M1 but nothing has been heard about the project since then.

Recently, the M division of BMW has been making some loud buzz saying that they want to have a supercar to challenge that of Audi’s and Mercedes’. The chief of product development was recently interviewed and he shared that the engineers of the M division wants to convince BMW to make a supercar just like how AMG people urged Mercedes to come up with the SLS.

It is not enough that you have an idea or wanting it so bad, the M division also needs to convince the management of BMW that the project will bring in some money for the company. The engineers share that the team has discussed about it several times but they have not dealt with the business aspect of it for now.

Profitability was also the issue when the company came up with the Z4 Roadster. For now, it is still just a plan and still a ton of things to consider before any chance to see a green light for a BMW supercar.

Ironically, the hush-hush debut of the striking 500HP Falcon by Mach7 Motorsports during the recently held Detroit Auto Show is in contrast with the car’s bold, daring, and loud over-all look and feel. But when you consider the fact that Mach7 Motorsports plans to manufacture around 15 units of the 500HP Falcon in a year, only then will you understand the reason for its quiet debut.

The 500HP Falcon’s body comes with a monocoque made with carbon fiber and a hydro-formed aluminum chassis. The car’s V8 Corvette LS3 engine boasts of a staggering 500 horsepower in its standard version. Of course, it wouldn’t be so hush-hush if Falcon would only carry the standard engine. Mach7 is offering an optional GM LS9 engine that is packed with 640 horsepower making it, indeed, a super car.

The 500HP Falcon model that was debuted during the Detroit Motor Show was still in its incomplete state, therefore no officials ratings in terms of performance have been reported. However, since Mach7 Motorsports is known as a tuning company for Vipers, they speculate that the Falcon would rake in numbers close to that of a Dodge model that clock cover 0.60 mph in 3.4 seconds with maximum speed at 202 mph.

The 500HP Falcon is said to curb weight that is close to almost 1293kg. The weight issue compliments the company’s speculation about the supposedly close ratings to the Dodge. The price tag of the striking Falcon has also been speculated closing to almost $200,000. The first few models are expected to be delivered during the last quarter of the year.

According to Japanese sources, the Subaru version of the FT-86 sports vehicle could attain at least 60bhp compared to the Toyota version once the plans are completed. Due to Toyota’s desire to improve their engines in terms of fuel efficiency, the joint production of the FT-86 has been halted and delayed until later in 2013.

The new FT-86 will use the Subaru’s fine-tuned 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine. This fine tuned version produces approximately 200bhp. Subaru’s version of the FT-86 still has no name so far but it is revealed that Subaru aims to whip the model into a high performance car and will carry a turbocharged powertrain from Impreza STI that has about 260bhp. Both versions will carry Subaru’s six-speed gearbox that comes in manual transmission but the models will vary in their sets of wheels, bumpers, and grilles.

The initial test drive for the rear-wheel drive version has kicked off at the Nürburgring in Germany. According to sources, the magnificent test team of Subaru is behind the development of both models because Subaru drivers are more adept with the FT-86’s unique characteristics like the Impreza’s rear suspension and Legacy platform.

Subaru also had a lot to say in the decision of ruling out the plan in transforming the FT-86 into a 4-wheel drive as it would shoot up the price tag way higher. The Subaru version of the FT-86 is said to come with a price tag within the range of £25,000 and £30,000 in the United Kingdom.

The Italian carmaker unleashed a trio of jaw dropping automotive creations during last months Goodwood FOS Supercar Run. Among the Ferrari delights during the event is the Ferrari 458 which you can enjoy on the video released by the car manufacturer.

The video of the 458 Italia gives you the view from its dashboard cam as it zoomed around the 1.16 mile track in just 54 seconds when it debuted in the United Kingdom. The 599 GTO also took the limelight during the event but the official time for its run was not available. The Ferrari California completed its run in 57 seconds.

The designated driver of the prancing horses during the Goodwood event was the F1 test driver of Ferrari, Marc Gene. He also took for a lap the 2009 F1 car, the F60. Gene blasted to 241 kilometers an hour on the F60 around the difficult track.

Ferrari being the most successful constructor in F1 history was also represented by some of the brands classic and exotic cars from the 1950s through the 1970s. Among those which hurdled the lap were the 1972 312BB Spazzaneve, a 1959 250TR, and a 375MM which participated in the Panamerica race of 1953.

Other historical noteworthy Ferraris were the Ferrari 158 (1964), Ferrari 312/68 (1968), Ferrari 312 PB, and the 365 GTB/4 (1972).

So you’ve just bought yourself a new BMW, whether it is a bike or a car you are going to need to get insurance for it. Insurance is an important part of driving, it is something that you have to have, it’s required by law. There are some important differences between the insurance that you get for your BMW bike and the insurance you get for your BMW car. It is important that you understand these differences so that you make sure that you get the right coverage in any policy that you take out.

The reason that you need insurance is to on your BMW, whether it is a car or bike is to protect other people in the event of any accident. You are financially responsible for any accident that you cause and the purpose of insurance is to insure that anybody injured in and accident you cause gets taken care of. This is the minimum insurance that you are required to have by law. There are other kinds of insurance that you can get to cover any damage to your own bike or car or for any injuries that you suffer. If you are going to have high end product like a BMW it is probably a good idea to insure it against damage.

There are a few differences between the insurance that you will get for BMW car and that for a BMW bike. The biggest difference is that bike insurance doesn’t cover the rider or any passengers. Car insurance will cover you for any injuries suffered by people in the car, this isn’t true for people on a bike. Personal injury insurance for a rider and his passenger must be purchased separately, preferrably at a specialized insurer like Carole Nash.

It will likely be quite a bit cheaper to insure your BMW bike than it will be to insure your car. This is because the damage that a bike can cause to other people in an accident is quite a bit less than the damage that a car can cause. However a lot of the savings in liability insurance will be offset by the need to buy personal injury insurance. Although you don’t legally need this type of insurance like you do liability coverage it would be crazy to ride a bike without it.

A BMW is a major investment and it needs to be insured properly. If you have spent the money on a new bike or car the last thing that you want to do is skimp on the insurance. It is important that you make sure that you have the proper coverage. It is also important to keep in mind that there are differences between insurance for cars and insurance for bikes. The last place you want to find this out is after an accident.

Recently, Panasonic’s Company President Naoto Noguchi met up with Tesla Chief Technology Officer JB Straubel to present the first batch of li-ion cells produced at Panasonic’s new facility. Just last January, the two big automotive figures agreed to team up to develop this next generation EV battery cells. Tesla consented to using Panasonic cells for their newest battery packs.

These cells, according to Panasonic, features a Nickel based Lithium ion chemistry. Straubel also stated that with these “cutting edge Panasonic batteries”, Tesla’s battery pack technology will provide the highest density battery packs for electric vehicles in the world.

Straubel also announced that Tesla will be delivering the Tesla Roadsters to select consumers in Japan. This will be the company’s first Asian delivery. Tesla already distributed 1,000 Roadsters to their customers in North America and Europe. The Panasonic-Tesla battery packs will be powering these green car-Roadsters. In addition to this, Tesla is also working on the production of battery packs for Daimler Smart EVs.

The company is also reportedly working on battery development programs for other vehicle and stationary customers. Panasonic and Tesla are reportedly “deepening their relationship” in their joint efforts to optimize electric vehicle cells. This was initially announced in a Panasonic factory visit by Straubel last January.

Panasonic previously announced its development of two new high capacity lithium-ion batteries late December last year. These are 3.4 ah and 4.0 ah lithium-ion cells with an optimized nickel based positive electrode. These inspired the cells produced by Panasonic for Tesla, with some alterations to fit the latter’s battery pack. To date, Panasonic is considered the largest producer of lithium-ion batteries. I can’t wait to rent a Tesla Roadster asap!

Instead of looking for ways to make their powerful engine more powerful, Lamborghini engineers and designers believe that performance gains can be achieved by reducing the weight of the vehicle and using lightweight materials.

The top executive of the Italian car maker explains that the current market and policy makers are very conscious how the added acceleration will mean more fuel consumption. This also translates to more CO2 emissions.

Lamborghini is also foreseeing governments of different countries will be imposing stricter green rules which could restrict the development of their engines so their funds for research and development will zoom in on how they can surgically reduce the weight of the car for a better super car performance.

The head of R&D of Lamborghini explains that the need for speed will be limited by aerodynamic resistance. Further he explained that there will be a declining efficiency in performance when a car tries to go over 211 mph. One should also take note that there are only a few places where one can zoom at that speed. Acceleration will be key and decreasing the car’s weight is key.

The designers will be using composite materials that will be used on the right places, provide the needed stiffness, cost, and characteristics. Instead of the usual Lambo high strength steel, they will be suing more of carbon fiber and aluminum.

The plan seems to be working with the redesigned Murcielago LP670-4 SV which gained 30 horsepower by shedding off about 220 pounds off its body. Now it is a 670 horsepower charging bull.

Lamborghini is also looking into using a start-stop system to decrease emissions especially during city driving, which could also help with fuel efficiency, if the Lambo people even care about that…

Car enthusiasts first saw the Arash AF-10 as a prototype that took the spotlight during the London Motor Show three years ago. After the company has undergone several reshuffles, they finally reveal the production trim of the Arash AF-10 as their first supercar.

The AF-10 is designed to perform well on the road without hurting the pocket too much of those who want to be in control of the steering wheel. This supercar from Arash is expected to have a sticker price starting at $534,000.

The Arash AF-10 was designed to steal a chunk from the sales of other supercar manufacturers, at least the small time producers like Pagani and Koenigsegg. It will also test the grounds against main players like the Ferrari and Lamborghini.

The body of the AF-10 is made mostly from carbon fiber which explains why it tips the scales at only 2,645 pounds. It is about 353 pounds lighter than the Ferrari Enzo and by 1,102 pounds compared to the SLR McLaren of Mercedes-Benz.

The powerplant under its carbon-fiber hood is derived from the DNAs of the 7.0L V8 engine of the Corvette Z06. Owners can expect an amazing output of 550 horsepower and about 465 lb-ft of torque. The power of the engine is transferred to the rear wheels by a six speed Graziano gearbox.

Aresh also plans to release a supercharged version of the AF-10 and it will be aptly tagged as the AF-10S. This variant will set the bar at 800 horsepower and whopping torque of 553 lb-ft. There are also plans to build a more aggressive 1001 horsepower unit.

The first run of the AF-10 will see 70 cars rolling off their assembly line.
